part whole addition through 10's 1

this week we are learning how to add big numbers and work it out a different way we work it out like this....... so lets get a example, 35+6=?       we try to make a tidy ten with the 5 so you have?
then you do 35+5=?    we have the 6 and how meany fingers do you have down?     you do this 40+4=44                  so 44 is your answer.
