Art Expo

Today the school was lucky enough that the teachers put on an art expo for the whole school. So we travelled around the school to look at the amazing art work. First we started at the year 5 and 6's and then we went to the year 1's , 2's , 3's etc. Everyone in the school did at least 1 or 2 pieces of art to display. Rm 5 art was based on the famous artiste called Andy Warhol. the art he did was pop art. We had to draw our self's like that drawing of Marilyn Monroe from Andy Warhol. My favourite art work was the tie die they had some really different colours and designs. I just want to say thank you to all of the teachers that organised there classes so everyone could have a good time.

Duffy Books from Dominion constructors

Today Pt England got some Duffy books from Dominion constructors. We are so grateful for all the books that they gave us. I'm sure that we all appreciate and read them each day. The book that I got is The Baby-Sitters Club - Dawn and the Impossible three Based on the novel by Ann M. Martin. I am so excited to read this book I am trying to collect all of her books. I now have almost all of The Baby-Sitters Club books. and a big THANK - YOU to Dominion constructors for giving us a hole lot of books. THANK - YOU

Why do we need school

 Why do we need school 

Introduction: Do we really need school? School is a place where children go everyday to learn about new things about the world. In New Zealand people have to go to school from the ages 5-16. We go to school so we can learn, so we can get a job one day and so we can learn to get along with others.  

Paragraph 1: children go to school to learn about many different things. School is a place where kids can learn about lots of different things like reading, maths and writing. All of the things that you learn at school may help you in your future. When you're out shopping and you're trying to work out your money. If you didn't go to school then you wouldn't know how to do that.     

Paragraph 2:Going to school may help you get a job. When you go to school you learn many different skills. For example if you are very good at maths and you keep learning it then you could be an accountant. Or if you were really good at writing you could write story or something like that. Or if you were good at reading then you could become an editor so you could edit peoples books.  

Paragraph 3: School helps us make friends. At school we learn how to socialise with others. Sometimes our teachers put us into groups when we learn so we can work together and learn about each others ways of learning. Also at school we have sports. Sports help us to share and help each other. 

Conclusion: In conclusion we go to school so we can learn, hopefully get a job and socialise with others. There are definitely more reasons why we go to school then just learn, getting a job and socialising.

Task Description: This is one of my tasks from my writing. At the start all of the paragraphs where mixed up and our task was to put them all in there right place to make the story. 

   

Recount Week 2, Term 4

My earliest memory was a few years ago when I was five or six.This happened at my house in the lounge. My brother Carl and my other brother Michael were there also Carl's partner Angel.

My brothers Carl and Michael were play fighting. I was watching TV so I wanted to have a drink I went to the kitchen and had a drink. Then after awhile Carl and Michael got the boxing gloves and trained or something like that.That was that. I also wanted to have a drink again but of juice I but my juice on the cane cabinet and then I watched some more TV.After a few minutes I wanted to go and sit next Angel I wasn't watching were I was going, I was walking straight through my brothers training if you want to call it that. Then I just got hit on the side of my face. POW that hurt it was so painful and Carl did but of course he said sorry. Other than that the day was fun.

Hi my name is Aaliyah and this is my cave art animation. Long long ago there was an elephant that a tribe was hunting for food.They were trained and Fearless They would never miss an animal. But one day they were hunting the Elephant and the elephant was a bit too smart for them.So they have to try and try and try. One day Carl Taylor and Michael they were the strongest bravest  fearless people in the tribe When they went to the cave they were trying and trying and trying but they just couldn't get him.The elephant was just a bit too smart for the most bravest strongest fearless people in the tribe.A few days later they got chief Bob Who was the chief of the tribe he doesn't do any of the work he usually just looks after the children and takes care of the tribe.But now that the smart elephant I don't think that he is going to survive now.He is going to die so he can be the tribes meal It's a Hard Knock Life for the elephant know.Thanks for watching hope you like my cave art animation.
