Welcome back - holidays

 Task Description:

Hi Welcome back to my blog. It’s TERM 3 yay !!! Well today I’m going to be telling some things about what I did in the holidays. In the first week my cousins came over for a couple of days. We mostly just chilled and watched movies. We also did some exercise and some running around outside with the little kids. And don’t forget that we had to do those chores before my cousins left.

A few days later it’s the second week of the term 2 holidays. On monday my cousins came back from their mom for another couple of days. Like in the first week we chilled and watched more movies. But on Tuesday I went on a visitation with my dad for my other cousin's birthday and we went to dennys for dinner and some yummy cake. And during the weekend we mostly just cleaned and played games outside. My holiday wasn't that interesting but hopefully you had a funner holiday. HOPE YOU ENJOY!!

Reflection

A few minutes ago Rm 5 reflected on the year 8 leadership camp and the year 7 step up program. we had to think about what we wanted to add, keep, stop and why do we have these events.

ADD -  more food, Games,

KEEP - Stacking cups, games, more food, art, sports, movie and lollies

STOP - Singing, puzzles and teachers.

Why do we have these event -  We do these events so we can improve in our self and learn how to work together.

caption speeches

These are some things that I heard from the leaders of the year 8 leadership camp and the year 7 leadership school.

  • Really proud of their group for stepping up and being leaders.

  • There were lots of fun activities.

  • Supporting other people if they didn't want to do the activatie.

  • Learnt how to step up and be a leader

  • Really enjoyed being a leader and watching other people step up.

  • Camp could really be good for you so you could step out of your confert zone.

  • Stepping out of my confert zoneand being a leader.

  • Liked everyone gettIng along.

  • When some leaders were struggling the team helped out

  • People in doms were sleeping together because they were scared.

I just want to say I am so excited to go to year 8 camp!

The Year 7 Leadership school

year 7 leadership school.

The reason why I called it the year 7 leadership school is because the year 8s have gone of to year 8 leadership camp so last week from wednesday till friday it was just the year 7.

The first day of the year 7 leadership school. The teachers sorted us out into our groups so we could make a name and a chant. I was in team Thunder with lots of other people. The other team names were strikers and duck life. Very creative. Team thunders captions where Nina and Mohamed
The second day We started our sports rotations team thunder did netball first it was really fun. After That we did activities. Each teacher had there own activity to do. Team thunder was with Mrs. Moala first we had to solve Riddles and mysterious. And Ms Tipene's class did art. Mrs Ilaoa did stacking cups. Last but not least Friday. We didn't do rotations we did games with our whole team the first game was stacking cups. Teams get points for winning and for cheering the best. Team thunder was the best cheerers for three rounds after that we did a singing challenge kinda like a riff off from pitch perfect it was so fun. Soon after that we had lunch a big shared lunch with pizza lots and lots of chips with cake and chicken and many many more food.

My fight

Task Description: This is my reading. it is about a fight between two boys. have a look at my work to find out more.

What would I do if I found $50

What would I do if I found $50?

What would I do if I found $50? To be honest I have no clue what I would do because I've never been in that situation. But if I found $50 in my classroom at school then I would probably give it to my teacher for her to take care of. If it was in a different area, let's say GI. If I found $50 in GI on the street not many people around then I would probably keep it. When I pick up the money and no ones looking, I guess I don’t feel like a bad person but when there's people there looking than when they see if they see me pick it up than I feel like a bad person but anyways. If I saw someone drop money on the ground then I would definitely pick it up and give it back to that person.

What would the consequences be if I picked up $50 of the ground and keeped it? I don’t know but you would have to get in trouble but if you don’t you're lucky but karma would come and bite you in the behind. What if you gave it back what would happen? you would get a big thank you or something like that I don’t know many ways that people can repay you by bringing their money back. I’m not saying if you find money on the ground take it and not give it back but how could they repay you?

What would you do if you found $50 on the ground and do you believe in karma?

Te Whare Tapa Wha

spaghetti tower teamwork challenge

Today I went to my literacy class which is room 4 with Miss Stone. We shuffled into our reading groups. My reading group is called Dahl Kauri, Rae Jae Hannah, Nina and Marie are in Dahl. So Miss Stone told us that we have to work together to make a tall tower strong enough to hold a marshmallow out of spaghetti and string. Our tower went really well until the end it was starting to fall. The marshmallow was too heavy but it was just a marshmallow on one piece of spaghetti. At first we were going to make it a square but then we realized that the strongest shape is a triangle so we restarted and made a triangle. We were all trying to make it strong but we were trying to make it tall so we kind of made it weaker as we went on. Once we reached the top of the tower it started to collapse. All of the different reading groups were challenging each other. Ihimaera was the winning group there tower was high and had the marshmallow on the top and it wasn't falling over either it was like the sky tower kinda. But our tower was a bust but it was so fun to reconnect with my reading group.

A world of difference - Immersion Assembly

WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!!

This morning Pt England had an Immersion assembly. This term our topic is A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!. At the start Mr. Burt showed us all of his hats that he got from all around the world. After that Mr. J told us something about his ancestors and he was wearing a celt. Team 1 is learning about other countries around the world. Team 2 did an amazing Dora the explorer episode. They are Exploring NZ to look for famous landmarks. After that team 3 presented The Amazing race around the world. Team 3 is learning about all the different places around the world and how they do things differently. Soon after that team 4 went up. They are experimenting with foods all around the world. And finally team 5. Team 5 is learning about myths and legends.

I can’t wait to start learning about legends and myths. And I’m pretty sure that everyone else is looking forward to exploring NZ and experimenting with food all around the world.
